Hi, my name is Gretchen Kehrberg and I am the 12th grade EC teacher. I began my teaching career in 2007 as a middle school science teacher in Austin, Texas. Before teaching I worked at environmental non-profits, as a naturalist with the Seattle Parks Department, and at the National Wildlife Federation in Washington, DC. I moved to Asheville in 2021 from Austin to be closer to my family, and I feel very lucky to call the mountains home. Outside of school I love being outdoors – hiking, camping, and exploring nature. I also enjoy traveling. My most recent trip was to Iceland to travel the Ring Road. I’m passionate about education and believe deeply in creating inclusive, supportive learning environments where all students can thrive.
